[About] User Registration

Before playing on Providence, one needs to register for the forums. However, all accounts are set to be activated by an Administrator on the staff.

The forums are currently set up so that guests (unregistered visitors) can see all of the content regarding the [public] story so far, but nothing more; registered users who have not yet been approved for play can see details and house rules for character creation, as well as the OoC section, which contains descriptions of all the active PCs on the board.

Therefore, registering without a real idea as to what you want to play has a few advantages - you can see exactly who/what we have in the game already, and you gain access to the Private Message system, which will allow you to privately discuss connections with other characters, or talk with the staff about varying ideas for concepts.

Because we only allow one character per account, all users should register with the name of their prospective PC; accounts not named something suitable or believable for a PC will not be activated. If you decide to change your username after creating your character, the staff can change this for you, with a simple request via PM.

All players who register on these forums must be at least 18 years of age; due to the nature of the World of Darkness, and the viciousness of some of the foes presented in Mage the Ascension, we will not be comfortable with entertaining minors as players. If you proceed to register, you are confirming that you are, in fact, eighteen or over, and are releasing the staff from any responsibilities as to chaperoning the public content of the forums. If you register but are found to be a minor, you will be immediately ejected and banned from the forums, with your IP address and email banned/blacklisted.

Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to gaming with you!

Update on Registration
Due to the influx of spambot registrations, I have disabled the ability to register an account. If you have someone who would like to play, please have them send me an email at the following email address: MtA . ExMiscellanea @ gmail .com (no spaces, preserve punctuation).

After the email has been read, a response will be sent to notify the individual of the period of time in which registration will be opened, usually for 12 hours from the time the response is sent, after which they will be closed until the following day, and registration will only remain open until the new user account is registered; after the person has registered it will be disabled again until someone else sends an email to the above address to indicate a wish to register.

I apologize for the need for this, and thanks for your patience!
